Day 2: EAST SIKKIM

So, my second day in Gangtok was the best morning I ever had. View from my window was mesmerizing.

We woke up early in the morning as we had to leave in a shared travel tempo. Our East Sikkim trip was for one day which covered 3 spots.

The package was Rs 1000 per head for 3 spots.

Requirement: 2 passport size photographs and Photo ID proof for the permit.

Contact Person: Vishnu Sharma
Contact Number: 09735912337

NOTE: Only driving license, voter ID or passport accepted. AADHAR CARD not accepted.

1. NATHULA:
The first spot was NATHULA. Photography and Videography are prohibited on the premises. Because it is the Indo-China border.

Though you can take photographs from the parking area. But be careful to not expose the identity of our soldiers.

2. BABA HARBHAJAN MANDIR:
A soldier who died 50 years ago still protecting the border. This temple is in honor of our martyr Baba Harbhajan, who died during duty.

But there were some incidents which prove his presence and he still serving his country. Many times he exposed the enemy plans.

3. CHANGU LAKE /TSOMGO LAKE:
Last but not least for the day is Tsomgo lake. It is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district. The elevation is about 3800 m (approx).

There is a temple also named Changu Baba Temple.

Hope you enjoy this blog. In the next blog, I will provide the full itinerary of North Sikkim. Enjoy traveling. :)
